Summer Camp at Help Group Is Bigger, More Creative, and More Connected Than Ever

Summer Camp at Help Group Is Bigger, More Creative, and More Connected Than Ever

There’s something truly special about watching a child wake up excited for camp. That’s exactly what we’re here for and, this summer, we’re making it better than ever.

Summer at Help Group is growing, and we’re thrilled to share what’s in store. Both Kids Like Me (ages 6–17) and Advance LA (ages 18–22) offer two tracks based on individual support needs, so every camper gets the structure and care where they can genuinely flourish.

Something New to Look Forward To

This year, Kids Like Me is expanding programming in sports, visual arts, and STEM. Picture collaborative art projects, sensory-friendly creative experiences, hands-on science activities, and movement-based games that get kids laughing, moving, and discovering new interests. Every day is designed to spark curiosity and build confidence through the most important work kids can do: play. Learn more about Kids Like Me Summer Camp.

“As we continue growing our Arts & Recreation programs, we remain focused on creating spaces where neurodivergent youth feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to be themselves,” said Alec Green, Vice President of Strategic Impact and Growth at Help Group. “Programs like Kids Like Me and Advance LA give children, teens, and young adults opportunities to build confidence, develop friendships, and explore new experiences in environments designed around their strengths and needs.”

A Leadership Opportunity for Teens

We’re excited to launch our new Counselor in Training (CIT) Program for teens ages 13–17 this summer. CITs work alongside staff, support younger campers, and help shape the kind of days that make camp memorable. It’s a meaningful way for your teen to grow in confidence and responsibility while giving back to their camp community. Learn more about the CIT Program.

What Families Are Saying

For many families, the difference shows up at home just as much as at camp. As one parent put it: “We’ve tried different camps and my son never felt comfortable. I’d have to drag him out the door. This is the first time my son has woken up excited to go to camp. He comes home happy and loves talking about what he did during the day.”

That kind of joy is what drives everything we do.

A Summer Built for Young Adults, Too

For families of young adults, Advance LA’s Summer Program offers a supportive environment where participants ages 18–22 can build independence, strengthen friendships, and stay engaged all summer. From crafts and music to sports and community outings, the program is designed to help young adults keep growing socially and independently. Learn more about Advance LA’s summer programming.

We Can’t Wait to See You This Summer

At Help Group, we believe every young person deserves a place where they feel truly seen and supported. As our camps grow to meet the needs of neurodivergent youth and young adults, our commitment stays the same: to give every camper an unforgettable summer.

“This is shaping up to be one of our most exciting seasons yet,” said Green, “and we can’t wait to welcome new and returning families.”
