After more than 85 years of serving our community, we’re excited to introduce a refreshed brand identity that better represents who we’ve become—and where we’re headed.
What started as a single specialized school has evolved into one of Los Angeles’ most comprehensive networks of education and mental health services. Today, we serve 25,000 children, teens, adults, and families each year through an integrated continuum of care that spans the entire lifespan.
Why Now?
“As we expanded and innovated to meet community needs, our brand had not kept pace,” said Dr. Susan Berman, Help Group CEO. “Many people know us for our schools, but fewer realize the full range of services we provide—supporting individuals and families not only in childhood, but throughout adolescence and adulthood.”
We wanted our visual identity to catch up with our mission. More importantly, we wanted to help people understand how all our programs work together to provide truly whole-person support.
Six Services, One Integrated Network
Our refreshed brand highlights the six core service areas that make up the Help Group network:
Specialized Non-Public Day Schools offer education and therapeutic support that helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Therapy & Support Services provide evidence-based mental health and family support that builds resilience across home, school, and community settings.
Vocational Training & Employment Services promote independence by preparing teens and adults for meaningful employment.
Arts & Recreation Programs create inclusive, joyful spaces through after-school enrichment, social clubs, and school break camps where participants explore interests and build friendships.
Residential Programs provide safe, nurturing environments with comprehensive care for youth and adults with developmental and emotional challenges.
Knowledge Exchange Initiatives advance training, research, and understanding of neurodiversity through professional and parent education, conferences, and academic partnerships.
The Symbol Behind the Brand
At the center of our new visual identity is an asterisk with six distinct sides, each representing one of our core service areas. Individual colors highlight the uniqueness of each program, while their convergence at the center symbolizes integration, collaboration, and our shared mission.
“This identity helps people see the full scope of what we do and how our programs intersect,” said Howard Tenenbaum, Help Group Board Chair. “No one we serve is supported in isolation—our services are intentionally connected and guided by deep respect for each individual’s journey.”
Who We Serve
We work with neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals, including those with autism, learning differences, ADHD, developmental delays, and emotional or behavioral challenges. Our mission is to help individuals and families build resilience, create hope, and unlock their limitless potential.
Looking Ahead
“Our refreshed brand reflects the depth of our impact and our enduring commitment to innovation and inclusion,” Dr. Berman added. “At its heart is the promise that guides everything we do: Help Creates Hope.”
We’re proud of how far we’ve come over the past 85 years, and we’re energized by the opportunity to make our comprehensive network of services more visible and accessible to the Los Angeles community. This rebrand isn’t just about a new look—it’s about ensuring that everyone who needs support knows we’re here, with services that meet them wherever they are in their journey.
